Kodak EasyShare Sport C123 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 2.4-Inch LCD - Red (New Model)
I bought this camera for my 15 year old son who takes a 2 week trek. He has not actually taken the trip yet, but he has played around with the camera (we have two, actually) at home to become familiar with its features and capabilities. Given the price, I'm actually quite impressed. Aside from price, there are two reasons why I choose this camera. First, it waterproof (to 10 feet) and can be dropped in a puddle or rained on. The waterproof function does just such concerns out of the equation. My son is also a competitive swimmer, so I totally expect he will eventually also enjoy the pool with his friends. The second reason for choosing this camera was "easy share" of the images. You create e-mail or a Facebook account already, so when you take the pictures you choose where you want to share them (email, Facebook). To really share them, you have to put in a computer, but it will automatically and quickly send the images which you have designated. (Hint: you need to appoint an e-mail to send from, and a Yahoo or Gmail account is the easiest to use to create ... techies may know more, but it worked best for me). The biggest surprise was the images themselves. The quality is actually not bad. Professional photographers and photo enthusiasts would obviously not be satisfied, but for a 15-year-old boy or me, it works quite well. Options for lighting, etc. are available and are fairly easy to use. Video is great in good lighting. Lighting is probably the key to everyone, but we have not had any problems so far with no light (assuming the use of flash in low light). Things I would like to see would be the opportunity to socialize with more than one Facebook account at a time and a viewfinder so you can see what you did in bright sunlight, but these are minor drawbacks. Considering the cost, is this really a good camera, and will serve our purpose very well.

I went to LA last week from Ecuador for 10 days on vacation, I wanted this new camera in my hands to feel it, but at Samy store on Fairfax Boulevard, they had no camera yet, I ordered one from Amazon (costing $ ¡ 600 plus fast shipping! because it was the only one available at the time, but ...), I finally have it in my hands.
First impression: small enough not just a point and shoot camera, but not too much too perfect to take with you a better equipment than any point and shoot camera was anywhere without carrying a big SLR and a bunch of lenses that actually y have a Canon 5D MKII, a Canon 50D and I began to DSLR world with the famous Canon 20d, is something interesting that I use all these cameras with a bunch of old Nikkor lenses (at least 20 years old) with the help of an adapter ring for me, is the ideal marriage, canon body with old Nikkor lenses, of course, I can only use the manual mode and have to use the manual focus ring to focus, but ... While my eyes are 20/20 love the end result.
Some features on this camera:
An LCD screen is fantastic, making it possible to take pictures or film shoot in almost all locations and situations, beautiful even when you make movies or do not want to be seen when you shoot, be more spontaneous pictures.
2 Ergonomic Wheel ISO, compensation and the mode dial is very well located, they work regularly.
3 The new front wheel, which works to increase or decrease the aperture or shutter speed is great.
4 The menu is simple to use and I like the new formats and sizes, you can take photos, 10:09, 4:3, 1:1, 3:2, 4:05 makes it possible to get a better composition and photo formats to crop the image.
5 The robust sensor is nice for me, also in only two parts of the camera in your hands and fingers need more support.
6 At first I on the optical viewfinder seems to be simple and "horrible", as someone said earlier, but diopter correction works well, and when I clean the visor glasses are so clear and beautiful, in fact I use it much, do because it is not necessary To open the LCD and it is possible to see green or orange light that tells you that the report is ok or not, "go back to old times."
7 I have the test is not enough video, but at first look, it's ok and makes it possible to record some interesting moments.
8th The quality of images is huge, really love it, finally can get nearly the quality that I have with my digital SLR, but in a small camera.
9 It's fast, ready to take pictures, perhaps in a second.
10 The quality of the LCD screen may be is not the best, but you can see if the picture is ok, and usually if you can see that the picture is ok, when you open the program, the picture! Really good!
11 for me all the wheels are well-placed buttons in the right place, I have a normal-size hands, use gloves xl, but not greasy fingers.
12 The autofocus works well, quickly and with excellent precision, has not been easy to find in a small camera, reducing the risk of losing a nice photo.
12 would be perfect, but nothing is.
This is my first week with this camera, I will give you more and more of my experiences.
For now, I'm really happy, it fits my needs.

Before I did this side by side comparison, I bought and returned the Olympus Tough 6000, Casio EX FC-100 and Casio Exilim EX-S10. Olympus took horrible pictures. The S10 was just blah - not a real feature enhancements Exilim 5MP I have now. FC-100 was just too big.
So yes, I'm picky! I wanted a small, sexy, functional, easy to use, superb camera. I was torn between the Canon Ixus 780IS and Sony Cyber-Shot T90. I visited both a store and was still undecided - beyond the Amazon price was much cheaper. I ordered both and did a comparison side by side in my home. Canon went back - sorry Powershot.
Here is a scoop. Just leveling the base - I just want to take good pictures of my dogs and garden, and her husband, and just life. I'm not a pro. I mostly post my photos on Facebook or email - very rarely do I print.
Both cameras were sexy and small. Both were heavy and felt stuck. Both require that you remove the battery to charge it. It's about where the similarities end.
Canon menu interface was clumsy and not intuitive. I have not used either camera brand in the past - so I have no bias from previous experience. Simple things like changing the picture settings took a few minutes to find out. Sony has a touch screen - which I initially thought was just hype. I really think Ashton is cute and all - but I do not need a touchscreen. So I used it! It rocks! Very easy to navigate. Quick to learn and very functional.
T90 is almost completely automated. The only thing missing is the "make me look thin" attitude. Plus the auto mode - the camera tells you what mode is selected (portrait, scenery, gourmet food seriously). So you need not worry about your mountains will look like sushi, or vice versa. Smile detection automatically started when you take a picture of a face. It does not work on dogs - but it did recognize a face Barbie doll. There are lots of features - the touch screen to focus on a person or an object of focus. Smile settings - small smile, medium and large. The screen is a nice size for viewing and sharing on the site. And seriously, is there a setting gourmet food. I have no idea why, but it's cool. There is also a beach setting, snow mode and underwater mode (camera is not waterproof).
The big deal breaker was the picture quality. I took the picture of the same scenes with both cameras simultaneously. Both the camera set to Auto mode and then set to landscape. I have uploaded all the pictures to my laptop and saw them in the format and size, directly from the camera. Sony Pictures was more alive, had more detail and was sharp. I asked my husband to see a side by side in the pictures - he chose Sony Pictures, as well. I have also tested the image stabilization on both cameras. Sony was once again superior. Neither the camera did a good job when I jumped up while taking a picture. But better than Sony's hand wobble. So, of course! Sony won.
Sony also has less shutter lag and short "boot time." I love the touch screen. The camera is small, easy to use and fun. The picture quality is good.

I was looking for a digital camera to take with me on my trip to Australia. To be a trip of a lifetime, I wanted to make sure I came back with great pictures and video that helped me to remember and share my experiences. I have shopped online and in stores to compare prices and brands. This camera offers easy operation with excellent results at an affordable price. There are many options to choose from, allowing for optimal performance. It is compact and easy to get used to. The larger LCD screen was great when capturing and reviewing images. Video mode captures sound good, but you can not zoom during filming. The settings can be configured manually adjusted to your wishes, but there is also a function for easy recording. Battery life was sustainable and allow for all-day shoot. View images as a slideshow on the camera is good because it plays music along with it and you can add your own music to add a personal touch. I could take pictures quickly with fast response time of the trigger. Overall I was quite happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone shopping for a decent digital camera, but is not quite ready for an SLR. The pictures were great!

Have only had this a few weeks, but this camera has proven to be big for the pot.
A good price for a camera, I can recover and not have to worry about getting wet.
Take great pictures in / under water and you can also record video (no zoom in video mode).
When you turn on it is ready to take pictures very quickly.
So far there have not been eating batteries, which is good because it does not seem to turn off automatically.
Have other states, if you want to use the camera more than to take pictures in the water, but we have not really tried them out.
ETA:
Soon I will try to upload a video taken in our pool. He also wanted to make a big deal about this camera - we left out all night and it rained. It was really a relief to know that my camera was not ruined just because I forgot to include it in the bath!
Children have a great time with this camera so much so that I can get it to go ahead and pick up a second A! It holds really up to being roughly handled.
Added a very short clip of my dog. my son use the camera first over the water below and above again. I have also noticed that when in video mode, the camera will capture sound underwater! it's pretty cool, I did not expect.
